You and I by ~disenchantedmuse on deviantART

What has become of us?

Where have we gone?

All I see is emptiness.

Serene, beautiful, breath-taking.

Emptiness.

This photo was taken in August 2010, at Kuting Reef resort in Southern Leyte. The chairs were already positioned that way, so all I had to do was take the shot. (And write the short poem, of course.)

Life in Plastic

They, with their fixed smiles and eternal stares.
If you were stuck smiling forever, how would you live your life?

Congratulations, My Paranormal Romance!

I found out earlier today that the local indie film My Paranormal Romance bagged a couple of awards at the 2011 Cinema One Originals Festival.

The film won Best Production Design (Kaloy Uypuanco) and Best Editing (Ruben Aquino). Director Victor Villanueva also received a special citation.

Congratulations, you guys!

I personally know some of the people involved in the film, having worked with them in the past (not in a film, though *wink*). I feel very proud of their accomplishment - even though I was not involved in the project, it is still something to boast about for the local Cebu film industry.

So kudos to you guys, and let's keep making and promoting local Cebuano films. Oh, yeah! Can't wait for Cebu screening schedules. \m/

Here's a complete list of winners and photos of the Awards night.

Manga Diary: What happened to NANA?

Of all the manga series I really want to see closure on, Yazawa Ai's
NANA tops the list.
After reading through all that pain and weeping over my keyboard, I
want to know how it ends. I want to see it end, period. Readers have
been speculating for months and months. Right now, I no longer care
whether Nana will die, or whether Hachi will die, or whoever else will
get killed off in the end. I simply want CLOSURE.
The point at which the manga dropped off was after series of
depressing events that left readers hanging. I believe we have been
plagued by questions of what really happened for months on end.
This story needs a conclusion, for everyone's peace of mind. : )

To Sunshine

Written for Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. This round's word prompt is GRATUITOUS.

To Sunshine
your smiles do not tempt me.
i do not want sympathy,
nor do i crave your warmth.
you are sunshine, i am darkness;
like the night sky that serves
as the moon's canvas.

but you are not my moon.
